Crisis Resources

Are you in the midst of a mental health crisis? If you’re considering hurting yourself or someone else or are seeing and hearing things that no one else seems to see and hear (what I would define as a “psychiatric emergency”), please contact 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. If you’re in Virginia, you may also contact your local Community Services Board (CSB) and access their Emergency Services department - visit https://vacsb.org/csb-bha-directory/ to find your local CSB.

If you’re in Virginia and just need someone to talk to, consider calling the MHAV Warm Line, a confidential peer run service (meaning they are NOT licensed professionals). The MHAV Warm Line provides a non judgmental and unbiased space, staffed by individuals who have experienced their own mental health concerns. The overarching goal is to support you and your mental health wellbeing.

Monday-Friday, 9am-9pm
Saturday-Sunday/Holidays, 5pm-9pm
Call 1-866-400-MHAV (6428)

Below, you’ll find some additional mental health crisis resources. Please use them if you need them! Reaching out for help does not make you weak; if anything, it’s a demonstration of a special type of strength.
